KFC to Change Name to KFP - Hires Peter Dinklage to Play Colonel Sanders

With the recent change at Kentucky Fried Chicken from serving real chickens to now serving pigeon (apparently), the corporate office just announced it will be hiring famed Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage, to be the new face of the iconic Colonel Sanders.

Recently, the fast food "giant" has had more different actors for the companys dead spokesman than Serena Williams has new dinner trays. And now Dinklage in its effort to snag millennials and other avowed ramen noodle and cereal aficionados. However since "downsizing" its menu - literally - the move to placing Dinklage in the role as the man in the white suit and goatee seemed like a rational choice.

This is the Chicken I got from K-WTF- C the other day! Yes that is a LEG!

Company marketing director Jesse "Bye Bye Birdie" Pearson said in a statement "We've been forced to follow a trend, and unfortunately these free range chickens get so much exercise, they are pretty lean when we finnaly catch them and send them into the processor."

So to make light of the obvious outcome - tiny chicken parts compared to the giant fat ones we have been used to - the new KFC (KFP) ad campaign will feature a guy that plays tiny parts whom public knows and loves, Tyrion Lannister.

You know the saying 'You can't fly on one wing'? You can't fly on 100 of these!

While KFC execs are hoping for a Big response to the change in the actor/spokesman, company stock prices have initially Shrunk on the news leak.

What else can I say?

Next on Pothole Paradise:

Is it true what they say about Taco Meat?

Well that is my way of getting out my grief after opening a box of KFC chicken the other day. Chicken so small, it made my 2 year old granddaughter's hands holding it look like Andre the Giant having a nosh. Never seen such small pieces of chicken from the place. And unless I get a call from the chicken boss him/herself with a henhouse full of free coupons, I won't won't see anymore KFC chicken again. Well that is all.

That is a THIGH next to the potatoes. Yes Really!!!

Update: Michigan Road Funding is A Joke

Last week I wrote that "Michigan Road Funding is A Joke" partly because "A provision in a 1951 law requires cities or villages with a minimum of 25,000 residents, such as Troy, to pay a part for any highway construction within the state" - and a new I-75 project just north of Detroit will cost several cities nearly ALL of their Paltry Road Funding Package $ Dollars!

Well, Gov. Rick Snyder has now vetoed a road funding bill aimed at giving some relief to cities.

Yes, Dick thinks a 1951 law applies our 21st century roads and that is just fine with him. Even though it means that 10's of thousands of people will still have to drive on the same crappy, car trashing, moonscape roads this year to work - shopping - church on Sunday, with no hope of anything better in sight.

Most of the money these communities got for fixing their roads this year will go to widen I-75 instead, allowing more people to pass them by (who wouldn't want to - their streets are sh*t).

And remember, this is even though Senate Bill 557 sought to end that practice, and it passed both the state House and Senate with big majorities!!

Here is what State Sen. Marty Knollenberg, R-Troy, who sponsored the bill had to say:
"I just can’t believe that he thinks that the cities should pay for roads that they don’t own," Knollenberg said. "It’s utterly ridiculous. It’s simply unfair and I can’t believe he didn’t understand that."
Well, I guess Dick doesn't like his party and they don't like him anymore either. Not to mention what he thinks of you and me. Perhaps he is getting a job at one of the car companies his buddy owns after he is out of his current job. After all it is because of him we're all going to need new cars sooner rather than later.

Just for laughs, here is a photo I saw on a news website of Dick with the caption: "Governor Snyder patches potholes on M-37"

Governor Snyder patches potholes on M-37 - What Pothole ?
Uh... Where's the Pothole??? Accomplishing nothing as usual. Guess he won't be doing any roadwork for his next gig. That's a good thing right? !

Facebook Wants You To Be My Friend

OK, we all know that Facebook is always trying to get you to “click on” friends they think you want to click with. What tha’?

Well OK, more clicks = more money for Zukerburg, Facebook, et al. Everybody likes money. However this guy Zukerburg is so creepy that he is watching people you pass on the street and trying to hook you up with them !

I know, right?! You passed this guy in the parking lot and now you should "click on him".

Here’s what a spokes guy from Facebook said: “ We often suggest people you may know based on things you have in common…  location is one of the factors we use to suggest people you may know."

So now they are tracking your phone and its location information, where you are walking, driving, eating, whatever’ing, and showing you people that were next to you and saying “Hey be this guys friend”

Ugggh! Please, I know who my FRIENDS are. Get out of my life Zukerburg!

Facebook is tracking your movements and using the information to tell you how to live your life. Geeeezzz - George Orwell Right On.

So, my suggestion is that you disable this right away. Look at this link to see some ways you can do this. Or get out altogether.

Laugh Your Ass Off - Michigan Roads Vs Ohio Roads

Saw a peice on the Detroit Free Press website today
and it says it all.

My opinion here has always been that compared to other states, and I have traveled them all, Michigan has the worst roads.

This Freep item says it all:

Yes, when I saw this I laughed my ass off, so to speak. Many have recognized and commented on the fact that when you cross the border between Michigan and Ohio, say via I-75, you enter into a different world. The worst experience is traveling North into our fair state, Michigan.

Yes, I have even had relatives from other states upon arriving at my door after a brief "Hello", start to unload about the JOLT they got as the car crossed that state line.

"Lived here most of my life and the roads have always been something people in other states have 'whispered about' behind my back.  The wife said as a kid coming home from the family vacation's in Florida, she would be asleep in the back - back of the old chevy station wagon and would wake up from the deep sound sleep of childhood with a 'BANG' upon passing the "Welcome to Michigan" sign on I-75." - PotHoleParadise Intro Page

So if you think the idea that Michigan has the worst roads (are you listening Lansing?), is crazy think again. A major award winning news organization sees it and you should be rightly upset. The last thing people leaving our GREAT State will remember should not be this (the image on the Detroit Free Press website)...

"What the Hell !!
God it's good to get out"

Seriously, this sucks. It is really a bad thing that the people we elect to run our state, this government, will not do their job and Fix Our Roads. Gee, I can't Recall when I have felt so bad. DID I SAY RECALL ? !!

Michigan Road Funding is A Joke

Back when a Road Funding bill finally got passed (like gas) about a year ago in our state many people, including myself, said it was too little too late. We would not notice any road improvements - that the roads will only continue get worse.

Latest Road Funding Package

Not enough money was voted into the road package to turn back the terrible ongoing deterioation of our driving infrastructure. Bad roads would turn into Deadly roads.

And to make matters worse, much of the money which the Do Nothing Michigan legislators said was in the bill was actually based on Michigans improving economy and increased tax revenues. Now what do we see? A stagnant economy and Millions, maybe Billions of dollars diverted to pay for crap like the Flint Water Crisis and the DPS Meltdown/Bailout. Both situations caused by a failed government in Lansing. Now comes an outrageous example of why Road Funding in Michigan stinks.

The Michigan Department of Transportation's plans for construction on I-75 have hit a funding snag

So the news articles begin to pop up.

"The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to widen Interstate 75 through Oakland County — but there’s a snag in the funding. A provision in a 1951 law requires cities or villages with a minimum of 25,000 residents, such as Troy, to pay a part for any highway construction within the state. But some residents whose communities fall under the provision don’t want to pay." -StateSide, Michigan Public Radio.
Yes, the paltry dollars cities are to receive from the latest road package will be forcibly diverted to widen a section of I-75 where it passes through a city. That means they will have little or no money left over to fix their local roads. The really bad local roads. The ones we drive on every day and which wreak havoc on our cars suspensions to the tune of hundreds of dollars out of our pockets each year. And that's in addition to the increased taxes intended to fix those local roads!

Whisky Tango Foxtrot

So now the Michigan Do Nothing legislators have to scramble to repeal that 1951 law to stop the local road money drain. So what will happen to the I-75 widening project? Huh? What....?

Get used to it, Michigan lawmakers can not do their job, which the constitution says they must do; Provide safe roadways for the citizens of Michigan (Look it Up)!

And while you're at it, might as well get this attitude about our crumbling roads:

‘There Is Beauty In Decay,’ Says Head Of Federal Highway Administration While Surveying Nation’s Crumbling Roads
-TheOnion

http://www.theonion.com/article/there-beauty-decay-says-head-federal-highway-admin-53099

OK, that's a joke. And so are our roads here is good 'ol Michigan
